 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Eleanor Archer and Morgan Rose of Amarillo High
 School achieved great distinction by winning the 5A girls' doubles
 championship at the 2023 University Interscholastic League Tennis
 State Tournament; and
 WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school players in Texas
 on April 25 and 26 in San Antonio, Ms. Archer and Ms. Rose delivered
 an exceptional performance; dominating their opponents as they
 advanced through the bracket, the Amarillo duo won their
 quarterfinal and semifinal matches in straight sets over opponents
 from Frisco Lebanon Trail and Boerne Champion High Schools to set up
 a championship battle against Frisco Liberty High School;
 demonstrating great resolve after dropping the first set,
 Ms. Archer and Ms. Rose staged an impressive rally, emerging
 triumphant by the score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 to clinch the 5A gold
 medal; and
 WHEREAS, With the state championship victory, Ms. Archer and
 Ms. Rose compiled an outstanding 37-1 record in doubles for the
 spring season and wrapped up a remarkable 66-1 ledger for the
 2022-2023 fall and spring seasons combined; Ms. Archer became a
 three-time state champion for her high school career, having
 previously collected gold medals in singles and mixed doubles; and
 WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
 high school tennis players, Eleanor Archer and Morgan Rose have
 ably represented their school and community, and they will cherish
 their memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to
 come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Eleanor Archer and Morgan Rose of
 Amarillo High School on winning the 5A doubles championship at the
 2023 UIL Tennis State Tournament and extend to them sincere best
 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Archer and Ms. Rose as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
