H.R. No. 1790
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, DeLora Wilkinson of Houston has distinguished
herself through her achievements in the field of real estate; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of her 40-year career, Ms. Wilkinson
has held a number of sales and executive management positions; she
served as president of the Houston Association of Realtors in 1986,
and she has completed several terms on the board of directors of the
National Association and Texas Association of Realtors; in 2017,
she was appointed to the Texas Real Estate Commission as a broker
member, and she has further served the organization as a
commissioner and liaison to the Education Standards Advisory
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilkinson is a former chair of the Houston
Northwest Chamber of Commerce, and she served on the Houston
Economic Development Committee of the Greater Houston Chamber of
Commerce; she was also the founding president of the Foundation for
the Arts and Cultural Enhancement and treasurer of the Texas
Independent College Fund Board of Directors from 1997 to 2004; in
addition, she has been involved in the Visions for Greater Houston
steering committee and the Adults Relating to Kids Group; and
WHEREAS, Among her many accolades, Ms. Wilkinson has
received the Houston Realtor of the Year award and the John E. Wolf
Citizenship Award from the Houston Association of Realtors, the
Omega Tau Rho Award and 40 year Emeritus Honor from the National
Association of Realtors, and the Citizen of the Year award from the
Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce; she holds Certified Real
Estate Brokerage Manager and Graduate, Realtor Institute
designations; and
WHEREAS, A leader in her profession, DeLora Wilkinson has
earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients
alike, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby commend DeLora Wilkinson of Houston for her
achievements in the field of real estate and extend to her sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Wilkinson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
