 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Duncanville High School girls' track team proved
 itself one of the finest in Texas by winning the 6A championship at
 the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State
 Meet; and
 WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors at
 Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 13, the Pantherettes
 outscored their nearest opponent by 10 points to claim the 6A crown;
 Duncanville turned in outstanding performances in the relay events;
 the quartet of Ashley Lister, Aaliyah Gipson, Sanyah Keeton, and
 De'Kayla Simpson placed second in the 400-meter event with a time of
 45.55 seconds, and the same group of runners clocked in at 1 minute,
 36.03 seconds, to claim the silver medal in the 800-meter relay; in
 addition, a squad made up of Ms. Lister, Ms. Gipson, Ms. Simpson,
 and Kayli Hill captured fourth place in the 1,600-meter race,
 crossing the finish line in 3 minutes, 45.60 seconds; and
 WHEREAS, In the individual events, Indyia Walton added to the
 Pantherettes' winning total; she collected the bronze medal in the
 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.44 seconds and earned fourth
 place in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 14.13 seconds;
 Duncanville also received valuable contributions throughout the
 season from Kennedy Brown, who ran with the 800-meter and
 1,600-meter squads; and
 WHEREAS, These talented student-athletes were ably guided by
 head coach Yvette Green and assistant coaches Coy Square, James
 Williams, William James, and Steven Duren, and they received
 additional support from head trainer Alec Hawkins, trainers Ricky
 Webster and Paola Cabrera, and manager Corian Smith; and
 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
 commitment to excellence, and the Duncanville High School
 Pantherettes may reflect with pride on a job well done; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Duncanville High School girls'
 track team on winning the 2023 UIL 6A state championship and extend
 to the athletes, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Pantherettes as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
