No. 2024 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Diego López has ably served his fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer during the 88th Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. López has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, Mr. López is currently a rising junior at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is working toward his bachelor's degree in Plan II Honors and government with a minor in law, justice, and society, as well as a minor in philosophy of law; in addition, he is also pursuing a certificate in Core Texts and Ideas through the Jefferson Scholars Program and a Bridging Disciplines Program certificate in Human Rights & Social Justice; and WHEREAS, Mr. López is a member of Texas Moot Court, the Phi Delta Phi Pre-Law Honor Society, and the Plan II Pre-Law Society, and he serves as the diversity, equity, and inclusion chair for Beta Theta Pi Fraternity; moreover, he works as a staff writer for the Texas Undergraduate Law Journal and as a staff writer and copy editor for The Texas Orator; this summer, he looks forward to participating in the Lex Fellowship's study abroad program; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend Diego López for his service as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. López as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
