R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Pratt McLain of Gruver High School achieved great
distinction by winning the bronze medal in the 2A boys' pole vault
at the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State
Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. McLain
turned in a notable performance, clearing a height of 15 feet,
0 inches, to claim third place; this marked the second consecutive
year that he earned a place on the podium, after collecting a bronze
medal at the 2022 state meet; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, Pratt McLain has ably
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Pratt McLain on his bronze-medal
performance in the 2A boys' pole vault at the 2023 UIL Track & Field
State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. McLain as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
