H.R. No. 2342 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the passing of David De Leon of Corpus Christi on November 25, 2022, at the age of 64; and WHEREAS, A native of Corpus Christi, David De Leon was born to Maria Torres on April 8, 1958, and he grew up with the companionship of a younger brother, Roel; and WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. De Leon served in the U.S. Marines, and he went on to enjoy a rewarding career in the oil refinery industry; and WHEREAS, Mr. De Leon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he benefited from the love and support of his wife, Blanca, and their treasured family included her two children, Jesicka and Noe, and their son, Santos; he was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Torres, his maternal grandparents, Josefina and Santos Rodriguez, his aunt, Olivia De Los Santos, and his uncle, Rodrigo Rodriguez; and WHEREAS, David De Leon earned the admiration of all who knew him through his kindness, his generosity, and his perseverance in the face of life's challenges, and he will forever remain a source of inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of David De Leon and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Blanca M. Cantu; to his stepchildren, Jesicka Jacaman and Noe Garcia Jr.; to his son, Santos De Leon; to his brother, Roel De Leon, and his wife, Lisa; to his nephews, Roel De Leon Jr. and his wife, Monique, and Adrian De Leon; to his uncle, Ira Rodriguez, and his wife, Janie; to his aunt, Elodia Rodriguez; to his cousins; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David De Leon.
