 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
 those saddened by the passing of Isabel "Chabelo" Rodríguez on
 February 13, 2023, at the age of 62; and
 WHEREAS, Isabel Rodríguez was born near Guerrero, Coahuila,
 Mexico, on August 26, 1960, the son of Juan and Maria Lilia
 Rodriguez; he grew up with the companionship of six siblings; and
 WHEREAS, Passionate about baseball from a young age,
 Mr. Rodríguez participated in the Babe Ruth Senior League, and he
 was selected to the league All-Star roster when he was 18 years old;
 excelling at the position of catcher, he competed for numerous
 teams, including ballclubs in Piedras Negras; he later took the
 field with the Aguilas de PN, Amigos, Rebeldes, and Rio Bravo
 squads, and he most recently played for Auténticos; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Rodríguez worked for many years in the
 construction industry before starting his own business, Rodriguez
 Construction, in Eagle Pass; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rodríguez enjoyed the love
 and support of his family; he took great pride in his six children,
 Rocio, Luisa, Marta, Karina, Jessica, and Gerardo, and in his 13
 grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, While the loss of Isabel Rodríguez brings great
 sadness to his loved ones, his legacy as an accomplished baseball
 player and a beloved father and grandfather will be cherished by his
 family for generations to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of
 Isabel "Chabelo" Rodríguez and extend heartfelt condolences to the
 members of his family: to his children, Rocio Isabel Rodriguez,
 Luisa Irene Rodriguez, Marta Patricia Leija, Karina Sandoval,
 Jessica Rodriguez, and Gerardo Rodriguez; to his grandchildren; to
 his siblings, Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriguez, Otila
 Alvarez, Maria Gonzalez, and Elvira Abraham; and to his other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 Isabel Rodríguez.
