 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Pearland Little League All-Stars baseball team
 achieved great distinction by advancing to the 2022 Little League
 Baseball World Series, held August 17 through 28 in Williamsport,
 Pennsylvania; and
 WHEREAS, A group of talented 12-and-under ballplayers, the
 All-Stars began their journey by winning the District 15,
 Section 3, and Texas East titles; Pearland then turned in a
 triumphant performance at the Southwest Region Championship in
 Waco; in the finals, the squad defeated Oklahoma 9-4 to claim a
 berth in the Little League World Series for the fourth time in the
 history of the Pearland program; and
 WHEREAS, In their opening world series contest on August 18,
 the All-Stars scored six runs in the fifth inning against the team
 from Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, to secure an 8-3 win; Pearland
 dropped its second game in the double elimination tournament but
 shut out Davenport, Iowa, 4-0 to keep its hopes alive; in a rematch
 with Hollidaysburg in their next game, the Texas players blasted
 three home runs for an 8-4 victory; facing the Nolensville,
 Tennessee, squad on August 25 with a trip to the United States
 championship game on the line, the All-Stars turned in a valiant
 effort but ultimately saw their unforgettable season come to an
 end; and
 WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, Pearland
 benefited from the valuable contributions made throughout its
 campaign by each member of the roster: Malachi Clark, Ford Hill,
 Jacob Zurek, Cooper Arbaugh, Austin Cummings, Landon Karel, Ethan
 Richardson, Cohen Hartman, Corey Kahn, Jacolby Mayberry, Jackson
 Wolfe, Manny Castillo, and Kaiden Shelton; these determined
 athletes were ably guided by coaches Andrew Solomon and Robb Zurek
 and manager Aaron Cummings; and
 WHEREAS, The members of the Pearland Little League All-Stars
 proudly represented their city and state in one of the premier
 showcases for youth athletics, and they will treasure their
 memories of this achievement for many years to come; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Pearland Little League
 All-Stars on advancing to the 2022 Little League Baseball World
 Series and extend to the team's players and coaches sincere best
 wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
