H.R. No. 289
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the National Exchange Club and its Texas
Louisiana Gulf Coast District Clubs have made invaluable
contributions through their efforts in behalf of their fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Organized as a nonprofit in 1917, the National
Exchange Club serves 12 regions and some 26 districts; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the National Exchange Club is to
inspire communities to become better places to live through the
core values of family, community, and country, as well as to build a
strong America, safe communities, and unified people through
advocacy and service; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District serves some
20 local Exchange Clubs throughout the region and helps to further
the national organization's mission; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District provides
area clubs with a variety of educational initiatives and community
service opportunities, including the ongoing support of the ESCAPE
Family Resource Center in Houston; the center maintains a strong
focus on the prevention of child abuse and neglect and offers
education, intervention, and support programs to families in
crisis, as well as parenting classes to families seeking guidance
in creating safe and happy homes; and
WHEREAS, Since their inceptions, both the National Exchange
Club and the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District have played vital
roles in the communities they serve, and their members' willingness
to give of their time and talents sets an outstanding example of
civic engagement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2023, as Exchange Club
Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those associated with the
National Exchange Club and the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District
sincere best wishes for continued success with their important
work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the National Exchange Club and the Texas Louisiana
Gulf Coast District as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
