 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close
 with the passing of Roy Chester Johnson of Killeen on February 7,
 2023, at the age of 59; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Theron and Gail Johnson, Roy Johnson was
 born in Fort Hood on March 25, 1963; he graduated from Ellison High
 School, where he formed many lifelong friendships; dedicated to
 helping his fellow citizens, he worked for the sanitation
 department before joining the Killeen Fire Department; he was a
 dispatcher for 10 years and served for three decades as a volunteer
 fireman; an animal lover, he was later employed as field supervisor
 with the Animal Services Division of the Killeen Police Department
 for 10 years until his retirement; he went on to drive a school bus
 for the Killeen Independent School District, and his kindness made
 him a great favorite with his young passengers; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson shared a fulfilling marriage of 38 years
 with his wife, Brenda; he was the proud father of 4 children, John,
 Chad, Melissa, and Heather, and eventually, his treasured family
 grew to include 12 grandchildren; in his free time, he loved to
 visit his favorite place, Port Aransas, to watch dolphins, walk the
 jetties, and do some deep-sea fishing; he enjoyed making people
 laugh and playing pranks, and his warmth and honesty endeared him to
 all; and
 WHEREAS, Although Roy Johnson is deeply missed by those he
 left behind, they will forever treasure their memories of his sunny
 personality and his great devotion to his family and his community;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roy Chester Johnson
 and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Brenda Johnson; to his children, John Daniel Jamieson III and
 his wife, Anna, Chad Andrew Jamieson and his wife, Tiffany, Melissa
 Jamieson Heminover and her husband, Keith, and Heather Johnson and
 her husband, Rodney; to his father, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Theron L.
 Johnson; to his sisters, Gail Stokes and Michele Johnson-Denney and
 her husband, Frank; to his 12 grandchildren; and to his other
 relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roy
 Johnson.
