H.R. No. 641 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The City of Kyle dedicated its new Heroes Memorial Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 11, 2022; and WHEREAS, Heroes Memorial Park is designed to be a space for reflection, remembrance, and celebration of the military personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders who have called Kyle and Hays County home; located within the city's new Brick and Mortar District, the park features a memorial garden, along with educational displays and other activities for visitors of all ages; and WHEREAS, Part of the first phase of the Brick and Mortar District, Heroes Memorial Park is situated on a 138-acre mixed-use development within the Plum Creek master-planned community, which will also include an event lawn and a pedestrian and bike trail; the district and its accompanying park were partially funded by a tax increment finance district, and guidance for the project was provided by the Kyle City Council and the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2 Board; and WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the military and civilian personnel who put themselves in harm's way to defend our safety, security, and freedom, and Kyle's new Heroes Memorial Park is a fitting tribute to the service and sacrifice of those courageous men and women; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of Heroes Memorial Park in Kyle and commend all those associated with this project for their efforts in bringing it to fruition; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the City of Kyle as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
