 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Rick Grady is concluding his exemplary service on
 the Plano City Council in May 2023; and
 WHEREAS, First elected in 2015 to represent Place 3,
 Mr. Grady has been a member of the city council for eight years;
 over the course of his tenure, he has focused on keeping tax rates
 low and addressing the transportation and housing needs of the
 rapidly growing city; and
 WHEREAS, This dedicated public official has further
 benefited his fellow citizens as chair of the Emergency
 Preparedness Planning Council of the North Central Texas Council of
 Governments as well as the Friends of Consumer Freedom, a
 nationwide organization dedicated to financial literacy education;
 in addition to cofounding the Collin County Veterans' Coalition, he
 was previously chair of Plano's Planning and Zoning Commission and
 the Community Relations Commission; moreover, he has held
 membership with the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition, the
 National League of Cities Finance, Administration &
 Intergovernmental Relations Committee, the NCTCG Regional
 Transportation Council, and the Texas Municipal League Resolutions
 Committee, among numerous other civic and charitable
 organizations; and
 WHEREAS, A proud Vietnam veteran, Mr. Grady served with the
 Military Assistance Command Vietnam and the U.S. Army 1st Aviation
 Brigade; he received the Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam
 Cross of Gallantry, and later in life, he was honored with the
 Congressional Veteran Commendation; in his civilian career, he led
 public relations, mergers and acquisitions, and intelligence
 activities for several Fortune 500 companies; prior to his time on
 the city council, he served as vice president of research and
 economics at the Cornerstone Credit Union League; and
 WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
 able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Rick Grady
 may take pride in all that he has accomplished in behalf of area
 residents; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Rick Grady for his service on the Plano
 City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Grady as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
