                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 30, 2023       TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on Finance     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB1831 by Hinojosa (relating to the purchase of certain goods and services by the Employees Retirement System of Texas.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code to state that the Employees Retirement System (ERS) has exclusive authority over all aspects of the purchase of goods and services if the purchase is made with money other than money appropriated from General Revenue fund and related to the operations of home office facilities used in administering the system.  It is assumed any costs related to the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.   Local Government ImpactNo fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
