The bill would amend the Election Code related to the suspension of country elections administrators.  The Secretary of State (SOS) would be given statutory authorization to suspend the employment of these administrators in certain circumstances.  The SOS assumes that the salary, benefits, and related expenses of a temporary elections administrator appointed under the bill would be paid by the county, not the State.  Local Government ImpactCounties could be required to pay for temporary election administrators in addition to existing election officials; however, the fiscal impact of these additional costs is not expected to be significant.
