A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to meetings of the board of directors of a municipal
utility district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 54, Water Code, is amended
by adding Section 54.104 to read as follows:
Sec. 54.104. MEETINGS. (a) A regular or special meeting of
the board of a district must be held at a publicly accessible
location inside or not more than five miles outside the territory of
the district.
(b) This section does not prohibit the board of a district
from holding an open or closed meeting by telephone conference call
or videoconference call in accordance with Chapter 551, Government
Code.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
