SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 207
WHEREAS, The Decatur BBQ Bash is taking place on September
8 and 9, 2023; and
WHEREAS, This much-anticipated event is sanctioned by the
Outlaw BBQ Association as one of the organization's state
championship cook-offs, and the contest attracts talented chefs
from across Texas and other regions; and
WHEREAS, These highly skilled pitmasters are putting their
culinary abilities to the test as they vie to produce the
tastiest entries in several different categories, including
brisket, pork ribs, and chicken; and
WHEREAS, Held in conjunction with the Wise County Old
Settlers Reunion Fundraising Day, the event offers a fun,
family-oriented atmosphere along with great food and spirited
competition; and
WHEREAS, The Decatur BBQ Bash is a fitting celebration of
the tasty fare that is such an integral part of Texas culture, and
it promises to be a source of fond memories for all who attend;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby commemorate the 2023 Decatur BBQ Bash and
extend to the organizers, participants, and attendees sincere
best wishes for a successful and enjoyable event.
