No. 49 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss with the tragic passing of Laci Ada Stone of Nocona on March 15, 2022, at the age of 18; and WHEREAS, The cherished daughter of Haydan and Chelsi Stone, Laci Stone was born on July 1, 2003, and she grew up in Nocona with the companionship of two siblings, Johnathan and Kaygan; she graduated with the Class of 2021 from Nocona High School, where she was an honor student and a competitive athlete who excelled in the sports of golf, basketball, volleyball, and softball; as a senior, she was voted prom queen; moreover, she gave generously of her time as a volunteer with the PALS program and the Nocona Youth Volleyball League, and she was an active congregant of Northside Landmark Missionary Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, At the time of her passing, Ms. Stone was a freshman at the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico, where she had been awarded a golf scholarship and was pursuing a degree in global business management; vivacious and full of life, she was known as a young woman whose smile could light up a room, and wherever she went, her warm and upbeat disposition won her many devoted friends; and WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too soon, Laci Stone was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her, and they will forever carry her memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Laci Ada Stone and extend profound condolences to the members of her family: to her parents, Haydan and Chelsi Stone; to her brother, Johnathan Stone, and her sister, Kaygan Stone; to her grandmother, Carol Patterson; to her great-grandparents, Melvin and Minnie Corley; to her aunts, uncles, and cousins; and to all others who mourn her passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Laci Stone.
