                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 598
 In Memory
 of
 Elizabeth Anne Trimble Kohler
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Elizabeth Anne Trimble Kohler, who died
 on January 23, 2023, at the age of 97; and
 WHEREAS, Anne Trimble was born on September 4, 1925, in
 Fort Worth; in 1938, her family relocated to Austin, where Anne
 attended local public schools and graduated from Austin High
 School in 1942; a brilliant and determined student, Anne began
 her college studies at The University of Texas at Austin at the
 age of 16; and
 WHEREAS, While attending the university, she met and
 married Robert D. Hudson II, and they were blessed with son,
 Robert D. Hudson III; Anne returned to complete her studies and
 graduated 1947 with a degree in home economics, and she later
 earned a master's degree in counseling psychology in 1952; and
 WHEREAS, That same year, Anne remarried, and she and her
 husband, William Ray Kohler, were blessed with a son, Raymond
 Kohler; they enjoyed a rewarding marriage together for nearly a
 decade until Bill's death in 1961; Anne began a long and
 successful career as a teacher, social worker, and vocational
 rehabilitation specialist, in addition to managing her
 family-owned rental property and raising her two sons; and
 WHEREAS, Anne was an active participant in local and state
 politics and a long-time member of the Democratic Party; she
 faithfully fulfilled her duties as a precinct judge and served in
 the position for several years; she was an avid genealogy
 enthusiast and family historian who enjoyed traveling to visit
 court houses and cemeteries to trace her family lineages; and
 WHEREAS, A strong and devoted mother who was deeply
 dedicated to her community as well as her family, Anne raised her
 sons by loving example, and she continued her professional career
 as an employee of a number of state agencies before retiring from
 the Texas Department of Human Resources in 1983; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, wisdom, and grace, Anne gave
 unselfishly to help others; she was a source of light in the lives
 of those who knew her, and her memory will be forever cherished by
 her loved ones and by all who were privileged to share in her
 life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Elizabeth Anne Trimble Kohler; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Anne Kohler.
