SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared
by only a select few, and the attainment of this significant
honor by Katie Yurcho of Henrietta heralds a future bright with
opportunity and promise; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Yurcho has mastered a number of important
skills in her quest to become an Eagle Scout; she has earned merit
badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid,
personal fitness, and environmental science, and she has gained
experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking her
Eagle Scout project, which involved raising funds and leading
volunteers in building a dog park at Hapgood Park; and
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has ably served her peers in
a designated position of responsibility, and in so doing, she has
exemplified the many positive traits for which Scouts are
renowned; a student at Henrietta High School, she is a member of
the National Honor Society and has been actively involved in 4-H
and the PALs program; moreover, she has qualified for the
All-District Softball Team, as well as the All-Region Concert
Band, and she has further distinguished herself as drum major for
the school band; and
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Katie Yurcho has
demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Scouts BSA and its
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence she has acquired along
the way will indeed serve her well in the years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Katie Yurcho on
achieving this prestigious rank and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success and happiness.
