SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 66 WHEREAS, The members of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 in Wichita Falls marked an important milestone when they gathered to celebrate their organization's 100th anniversary on December 18, 2021; and WHEREAS, Deriving its name from the Wichita Falls motto at the time, "The City That Faith Built," Faith Masonic Lodge formally received its charter from the Grand Lodge of Texas on December 29, 1921; meetings were initially held in a room at the Masonic Temple of Wichita Falls Lodge No. 635, and members later raised funds to construct their own lodge; and WHEREAS, Throughout its history, Faith Masonic Lodge's members have demonstrated an abiding commitment to the masonic ideals of compassion and charity; over the years, they have made generous donations to fellow citizens in need, and their many other good works have included providing care items to troops stationed overseas, meeting with and offering assistance to military families, and supporting the fundraising efforts of other local organizations; the lodge has provided shelter to survivors of natural disasters, and in the aftermath of a devastating tornado in 1979, members stepped up to give blood and ensure that the injured received the medical help they needed; in recent years, the lodge has continued to give back to the community by hosting blood drives and participating in other charitable endeavors; and WHEREAS, In 2016, Faith Masonic Lodge merged with Megargel Lodge No. 1038; in May 2021, the lodge consolidated with Joseph A. Kemp Lodge No. 1287, bringing its membership to 326 Master Masons as it approached its 100th anniversary; and WHEREAS, The members of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 have maintained a proud tradition of service, honor, and brotherhood that has spanned several generations, and it is a privilege to join in recognizing the rich history of this venerable organization; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, hereby commemorate the centennial of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for the lodge as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
