No. 27 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Jason Austin Fricks, who passed away on June 2, 2023, at the age of 57; and WHEREAS, The son of E. J. and Gloria Fricks, Jay Fricks was born in Texarkana, Texas, on June 23, 1965, and he grew up with the companionship of two brothers, Clay and Glenn; and WHEREAS, Mr. Fricks enjoyed a rewarding career as a co-owner of Fricks Butane Gas Company in Texarkana, Arkansas, a family business that he ran alongside his brothers; in his leisure time, he liked hunting and fishing, and he was an avid fan of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks; and WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Fricks was devoted to his family; he shared a fulfilling marriage with his wife, Melissa, and he was the proud father of three children, Haleigh, Gloria, and Hunter; with the passing years, he had the privilege of seeing his family grow to include three grandchildren, Sophia, Gabriel, and Carter; and WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Jay Fricks leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jason Austin Fricks and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Melissa Fricks; to his children, Haleigh Rice, Gloria Fricks, and Hunter Cox and his wife, Allie; to his brothers, Clay Fricks and his wife, Maryann, and Glenn Fricks and his wife, Phyllis; to his grandchildren, Sophia, Gabriel, and Carter; to his father-in-law, Hayden Coe; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jay Fricks.
