 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 passing of Dorothy Joe Woods of Royse City on May 14, 2023, at the
 age of 89; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Eben and Ollie McClure, the former
 Dorothy Joe McClure was born on January 30, 1934; she grew up with
 four older siblings, Garth, Glenn, Mary Alice, and Martha Lou; on
 June 23, 1951, she was united in matrimony with Mitchell Woods at a
 ceremony conducted in Texarkana, Arkansas; they settled in Rondo,
 and they were blessed with four children, Mitchell, Lorna, Tonya,
 and Thomas; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Woods was employed as a realtor for 48 years,
 and she and her husband also owned commercial greenhouses and
 raised worms; later, they refurbished rental properties in the
 Texarkana area; the couple shared a fulfilling relationship of 47
 years before the death of Mr. Woods; and
 WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Mrs. Woods served as a
 judge at the Miller County Fair, and she was an EHC leader, Alateen
 counselor, and active church volunteer; she had a green thumb, and
 in addition to gardening, her many hobbies included collecting
 Santa Clauses, cooking for family and friends, playing the organ
 and piano, painting, sewing, and crocheting; warm and kind, she was
 always the first to offer help when someone she knew was in need;
 she had both a strong work ethic and a great sense of fun, and her
 wonderful sense of humor brightened the days of those around her;
 and
 WHEREAS, Although Dorothy Joe Woods is deeply missed, the
 passage of time will never diminish the joy and love that she
 brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 1st
 Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Dorothy Joe Woods
 and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
 children, Mitchell Woods Jr. and his wife, Kim, Lorna Chander,
 Tonya Raymond and her husband, Michael, and Thomas Woods and his
 wife, Angela; to her grandchildren, David, Brooke, Fallon, and
 Ryan; to her eight great-grandchildren; and to her many other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
 day, it do so in memory of Dorothy Joe Woods.
