SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4
WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas is marking its
40th anniversary in 2023, and this milestone provides a fitting
opportunity to recognize the organization for its important
contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, WFSDallas strives to meet the needs of both
businesses seeking employees and area residents seeking work,
and to that end, it has developed and implemented a multi-faceted
system of job training, job placement, and job retention
services; and
WHEREAS, Through its seven workforce centers in Dallas
County, WFSDallas provides a wide range of virtual and in-person
services, including hiring events, customized training, adult
education and ESL classes, layoff assistance, and scholarships
as well as seminars on resume preparation, interview skills, and
workplace attire; moreover, the organization subsidizes
equipment, uniforms, childcare, and transportation to help
remove the financial barriers to employment; and
WHEREAS, In 2023, WFSDallas received the Excellence in
Community College Partnership Award from the National
Association of Workforce Boards, which recognized its
integration of education and workforce services with Dallas
College; and
WHEREAS, A robust workforce is a key element in the
economic vitality of a community, and over the past four decades,
WFSDallas has played an important role in the prosperity of the
Greater Dallas area by helping businesses thrive and jobseekers
find meaningful employment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby commemorate the 40th anniversary of
Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas and extend to all those
associated with the organization sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for WFSDallas as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
