 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
 tribute to G. K. Maenius on the occasion of his retirement as
 Tarrant County administrator on September 30, 2023; and
 WHEREAS, G. K. Maenius began his distinguished career as
 the Tarrant County administrator in 1988; prior to his tenure
 with the county, he served as a police officer and held executive
 positions with the Texas Organized Crime Prevention Council, the
 Fort Worth Crime Commission, and the Fort Worth Chamber of
 Commerce; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Maenius has been at the helm of Tarrant
 County local government for 35 years, and he has helped guide the
 county, whose population of 2.1 million residents has nearly
 doubled during his years as administrator, through decades of
 exceptional change and growth; a talented, energetic, and
 resourceful individual, Mr. Maenius oversees more than 4,600
 county employees and manages an operating budget of $900 million;
 and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Maenius has been
 highly regarded for his superior leadership and expertise; he
 supervised the Tarrant County Commissioners Court with
 exceptional efficiency, and he successfully led the county
 through the uncertainty and stress caused by the COVID-19
 pandemic; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Maenius has been a trustworthy custodian of
 the office's core values of integrity, sound management, and
 fiscal stability, and he is known among his colleagues as a
 dependable, committed, and hardworking administrator; he is
 widely admired and respected, and his presence in Tarrant County
 government will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend G. K. Maenius on
 his outstanding service as Tarrant County administrator and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
