R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Madisyn Henderson of White Deer achieved great
distinction when the swine she exhibited won reserve champion
honors in its class at the 2023 State Fair of Texas Livestock Show;
and
WHEREAS, Held from September 29 through October 22 at Fair
Park in Dallas, the livestock show annually draws thousands of
exhibitors, including members of 4-H and FFA groups from across
Texas and beyond; dedicated to providing support to young Texans,
the state fair has awarded more than $30 million through the Big Tex
Youth Livestock Auction and scholarship program; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Henderson is a member of Carson County 4-H; her
swine was selected as the reserve champion winner in the Other
Crossbred category of the Youth Market Barrow Show, and her animal
sold for $6,000 in the Big Tex auction; and
WHEREAS, Madisyn Henderson is a source of great pride to her
family, school, and community, and she is indeed deserving of
special recognition for this exceptional accomplishment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Madisyn
Henderson on exhibiting a reserve champion winner in the Youth
Market Barrow competition at the 2023 State Fair of Texas Livestock
Show and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Henderson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
