No. 123 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The passing of Angela Elizabeth Oliverson on October 12, 2023, at the age of 48, has brought an immeasurable loss to her family and friends; and WHEREAS, A Minnesota native, Angela Oliverson was born to Ray and Sandy Oliverson on March 10, 1975; in her early childhood, her family moved to Houston and then settled in Kingwood, where she was a member of Kingwood Methodist Church; she attended Bear Branch Elementary School, and in 1984, she got her pony, Sunny; after moving to rural Cut and Shoot, near Conroe, she participated in hundreds of dressage and hunter/jumper competitions; and WHEREAS, Ms. Oliverson graduated with honors from high school in Conroe and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in psychology magna cum laude from Sam Houston State University; in addition, she studied ceramics in Puebla, Mexico, and at the University of North Texas, and she enrolled in the Glassell School of Art as well; she was employed as a legal secretary in Houston and in retail in both Houston and Austin; and WHEREAS, In 2002, Ms. Oliverson completed a master's degree in education at Texas State University; she began her teaching career with the Department of Defense Education Activity agency in Schweinfurt, Germany; in 2015, she transferred to a DoDEA school at Lajes Field on the Portuguese island of Terceira in the Azores; the following year, she was joined in matrimony to Nuno Tiago Ramos Pinto, and she began teaching at a DoDEA school at Naval Station Rota in Spain; and WHEREAS, Although Angela Oliverson is greatly missed, she has left her loved ones with many cherished memories, and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Angela Oliverson and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband, Nuno Tiago Ramos Pinto; to her parents, Ray and Sandy Oliverson; to her brother, Dr. Tom Oliverson; to her two nephews and her niece; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Angela Elizabeth Oliverson.
