CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Deb Shaw of the Midland Independent School District
has been recognized as the 2023 Administrator of the Year by Texas
Thespians; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious honor acknowledges the
contributions of outstanding school administrators who have
demonstrated exemplary support for educational theatre; and
WHEREAS, With more than three decades of experience in fine
arts education, Ms. Shaw has served as Midland ISD's fine arts
director for the past 18 years, and over the course of her tenure,
she has distinguished herself through her passion for the arts as
well as her exceptional organizational and managerial skills; under
her able leadership, the Midland High School theatre program earned
a number of accolades for its performance of A Midsummer Night's
Dream at the Texas Thespians State Festival in San Antonio,
including awards for best costume design, set design, and technical
crew; and
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, expertise, and commitment
to excellence, Deb Shaw has made a positive difference in the lives
of countless students, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in
recognizing this esteemed administrator; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Deb Shaw on her selection
as the 2023 Administrator of the Year by Texas Thespians and extend
to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Shaw as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives and Senate.
