 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The members of the Latin music band Grupo Frontera
 have earned great distinction for themselves and for the Rio Grande
 Valley region with their extraordinary success; and
 WHEREAS, Grupo Frontera was formed in Edinburg in February
 2022, and the band includes singer Adelaido "Payo" Solis III,
 percussionist Julián Peña Jr., drummer Carlos Frontera, guitarist
 Alberto "Beto" Acosta, bassist Carlos Zamora, and accordionist and
 singer Juan Javier Cantú; soon after its founding, the group
 debuted on YouTube with a cover of "Estos Celos" by Joan Sebastian;
 and
 WHEREAS, In May 2022, Grupo Frontera released a cumbia-style
 cover of "No se va" by Latin pop band Morat, and after a video of a
 man dancing to the tune went viral on TikTok, the band quickly
 gained fans around the globe; the song continued to build momentum
 throughout the following months, and in October, it earned a spot on
 the Billboard Hot 100 list; the band went on to release two other
 chart-topping hits later in the year, "Bebe Dame" with Fuerza
 Regida and "Que Vuelvas" with Carin Leon; in 2023, the band's Bad
 Bunny collaboration, "Un x100to," ranked No. 1 on the Billboard
 Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, and "TULUM," a
 collaboration with Peso Pluma, was featured on the Billboard Hot
 100; and
 WHEREAS, Grupo Frontera was nominated in 15 categories at the
 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the Year and
 Song of the Year, and the band won the award for Hot Latin Songs
 Artist of the Year; in addition, the group performed "Un x100to" in
 Times Square for Good Morning America on September 27 in
 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month; and
 WHEREAS, The outstanding achievements of Grupo Frontera have
 focused international attention on the Rio Grande Valley's vibrant
 Latin music community, helping to showcase the Lone Star State's
 contributions to this popular genre; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Grupo
 Frontera on its remarkable success and extend to the band's members
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Grupo Frontera as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
