H.R. No. 39 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Christopher Thomas Branham on June 24, 2020, at the age of 26, brought an unimaginable loss to the many people who loved and cherished him; and WHEREAS, The son of Jim and Conny Branham, Chris Branham was born in Brunssum, the Netherlands, on October 14, 1993, and he grew up with the companionship of his sister, Monica, who was also his best friend; in 2002, he and his family moved to Round Rock; a talented athlete, he excelled in baseball, football, and golf, earning the opportunity to compete in numerous national championships; he was a member of the Class of 2012 at Stony Point High School, and he attended a trade school in Pembroke Pines, Florida; and WHEREAS, At the age of 23, Mr. Branham distinguished himself by becoming a small business owner; he married and experienced the joy of becoming the father of two precious children, Aaliyah and Jaden; and WHEREAS, Mr. Branham's death inspired an outpouring of support from the community at large; to celebrate his life, family and friends established the Chris Branham Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for trade school scholarships, local youth baseball organizations, and all-volunteer search and rescue efforts; and WHEREAS, Chris Branham immeasurably enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to share in his love and friendship, and they will forever carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Christopher Thomas Branham and extend deepest condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Chris Branham.
