SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 50 WHEREAS, The Texas Environmental Health Association South Texas Chapter 20th Annual Educational Conference is taking place from December 6 through 8, 2023, and this event offers a fitting opportunity to recognize the chapter's vice president, Edgar Cruz; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Port Isabel High School, Mr. Cruz attended the Police Academy at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Brownsville Campus; he was employed as a manager at H-E-B and went on to work as a code enforcement officer for the City of South Padre Island before becoming the city's first environmental health manager; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cruz has further distinguished himself through his involvement in the TEHA South Texas Chapter; in addition to his work as vice president, he has played an instrumental role in organizing the Annual Educational Conference; he has also benefited his community through his many years of service with the City of Port Isabel Volunteer Fire Department; and WHEREAS, The skilled leadership and dedicated efforts of Edgar Cruz have greatly contributed to the success of TEHA South Texas Chapter, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring him for his professional achievements and civic contributions; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor Edgar Cruz on the occasion of the Texas Environmental Health Association South Texas Chapter 20th Annual Educational Conference and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Mr. Cruz as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
