Wilson, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1105 by Cole (Relating to the exemption of tuition and laboratory fees at public institutions of higher education for certain paramedics.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would exempt from the payment of tuition and laboratory fees any student enrolled in one or more courses offered as part of an emergency medical services curriculum who is employed as a paramedic by a political subdivision of the State. The bill would impact designated tuition and fees, which are classified as institutional funds, and therefore would not impact the state. The bill would also impact statutory tuition and fees, but it is assumed that any such impact would be insignificant.   Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
