The bill would require the appraisal review board to schedule a hearing on a protest no later than October 1 if the notice of protest is filed between March 1 and June 30; or no later than 90 days after the date of the notice of protest is filed before March 1 or after June 30.The bill would also require the chief appraiser, at least 14 days before a hearing on a protest, to provide the property owner with a brief summary of the reason for changing the value of the owner's property from the preceding tax year, if the value was changed.
