The bill would provide for punishment of the offense of misuse of official information as a third degree felony if the net pecuniary gain was less than $150,000, as a second degree felony if the net pecuniary gain was $150,000 or more but less than $300,000, or as a first degree felony if the net pecuniary gain was $300,000 or more. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
