                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 31, 2025       TO: Honorable Lacey Hull, Chair, House Committee on Human Services     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB2070 by Hull (Relating to a required court finding of abuse or neglect before an individual's name is added to the central child abuse or neglect registry.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would prohibit the Department of Family and Protective Services from adding a name to the central registry unless a court of competent jurisdiction enters a final order in a civil, criminal, or juvenile proceeding in which the court finds the individual abused or neglected the child. It is assumed that any costs to the Office of Court Administration, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Department of Family and Protective Services could be absorbed within existing resources.
