The bill would mandate the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at all new state-owned parking lots and garages whose design process begins on or after September 1, 2025. The Texas Facilities Commission would be responsible for ensuring an adequate number of charging stations based on factors such as the current and projected number of registered EVs, usage patterns of the parking facilities, and charging technology.The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time due to a lack of reliable information regarding the total number of planned construction projects by state entities.
