The bill would amend the Government Code to allow certain military service to be creditable as law enforcement or custodial officer service for the Law Enforcement and Custodial Officer Supplemental Retirement Program (LECOS).  The member cost to purchase law enforcement or custodial officer service would be based on the amount the member contributed for the first full month of membership as a law enforcement or custodial officer that is after the member's date of release from active military duty.The fiscal impact of the bill cannot be determined because it is unknown how many members of LECOS would be affected and how much military service would be purchased under the provisions of the bill.
