For the continuous query feature, the NPDB charges an annual subscription fee of $2.50 per licensee. With a projected total licensee population of over 608,000 in fiscal year 2026, the annual subscription costs total approximately $1,521,582. With projected growth in the licensee population, this figure increases to approximately $1,578,238 in fiscal year 2027. To implement the bill's provisions, the agency would require a total of 18.0 additional full-time equivalents (FTEs) to perform the following functions. To lead the development and maintenance of the nurse profile web portal, the agency would require 1.0 additional Web Administrator IV FTE, with an annual salary of $92,000 and benefits of $27,527. To perform backend system coding and system integration, the agency would require 1.0 additional Programmer V FTE, with an annual salary of $120,000 and benefits of $35,904. To respond to increased call volume from nurses and the public regarding profile access, corrections, and status updates, the agency would require 2.0 additional Customer Service Representative II FTEs, with annual salaries of $49,000 and benefits of $14,661. To support intake and processing of profile-related data, manage NPDB notification logs, and input NPDB data into the nurse profile portal, the agency would require 4.0 additional Administrative Assistant IV FTEs, with annual salaries of $53,945 and benefits of $16,141. To handle the anticipated increase in email and written inquiries related to nurse profiles and public access requests, as well as to verify data fields specific to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), the agency would require 3.0 additional License and Permit Specialist II FTEs, with annual salaries of $53,000 and benefits of $15,858. To investigate discrepancies in profile content, such as NPDB alerts or self-reported data, and to verify eligibility for the removal of disciplinary actions from the portal, the agency would require 3.0 additional Investigator II FTEs, with annual salaries of $47,000 and benefits of $14,063. To manage the two additional teams that the agency would create, the agency would require 2.0 additional Program Supervisor III FTEs, with annual salaries of $65,045 and benefits of $19,462. Each of the 18.0 additional FTEs will require computers and equipment, estimated at a one-time cost of $46,000 in fiscal year 2026.
