                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 13, 2025       TO: Honorable Lacey Hull, Chair, House Committee on Human Services     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB4730 by Hull (Relating to the voluntary relinquishment of parental rights, adoption, and the regulation of child-placing agencies.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require the affidavit for voluntary relinquishment of parental rights to be on a form the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) adopts and posts on their website. The bill would also require DFPS to adopt and post on their website a form to notify prospective adoptive parents of the parent's rights related to adoption. It is assumed that any costs to DFPS and the Health and Human Services Commission could be absorbed within existing resources.   Local Government ImpactNo fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
