The bill would expand the authority of district and county attorneys to independently investigate and prosecute certain violations under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.  Local Government ImpactThe bill would authorize district and county attorneys to take action on matters currently handled by the consumer protection division of the Office of the Attorney General. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
