 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Kade and Morgan Hodges, a husband and wife ranching
 team from Sterling City, were presented with the American Farm
 Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award at the
 AFBF Convention in San Antonio on January 27, 2025; and
 WHEREAS, The national AFBF award recognizes young farmers and
 ranchers who have excelled in their agricultural operations while
 demonstrating exceptional leadership abilities; and
 WHEREAS, The owners and operators of Hodges Livestock,
 Mr. and Mrs. Hodges raise Royal White sheep, commercial goats, and
 commercial Angus-cross cattle in Sterling, Coke, Tom Green,
 Navarro, and Grimes Counties; additionally, they provide
 vegetation management services to solar farms through targeted
 sheep grazing in hybrid grazing-mowing systems; Kade Hodges is a
 sixth-generation rancher in Sterling County, and his wife also
 comes from a family with a proud agricultural heritage; they are the
 devoted parents of a son, Weston Clay Hodges; and
 WHEREAS, Currently, Mr. Hodges is vice president of the
 Coke-Sterling County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and he also
 serves as vice chair of the Sterling County Underground Water
 Conservation District board and as president of the county's
 livestock predator board; he holds a master's degree in animal
 science with a focus in small ruminant nutrition; Mrs. Hodges is
 treasurer of Concho Valley CattleWomen and a board member of the
 Coke-Sterling County Farm Bureau, and in 2024, she served as vice
 chair of the Texas Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Advisory
 Committee; she holds a master's degree in beef cattle production
 and a certificate in ranch management and beef industry leadership;
 the couple belong to the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers, Texas and
 Southwestern Cattle Raisers, and American Solar Grazing
 Associations; and
 WHEREAS, Kade and Morgan Hodges have proven themselves to be
 important assets to the Coke-Sterling County Farm Bureau and to the
 state's agricultural industry, and they may indeed reflect with
 pride on this well-deserved honor; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Kade and Morgan Hodges on their
 receipt of the 2025 American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers &
 Ranchers Achievement Award and extend to them sincere best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hodges as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
