 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of the Bartlett High School chapter of the
 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America have distinguished
 themselves through their participation in the LifeSmarts State and
 National Championship competitions; and
 WHEREAS, LifeSmarts is a consumer education program for
 middle and high school students in which participants study and are
 assessed on five topic areas: personal finance, consumer rights,
 health and safety, technology, and the environment; after advancing
 through online events, students are invited to take part in live
 team competitions; and
 WHEREAS, Members of the team that won the 2024 LifeSmarts
 State Championship title for Bartlett High School were Sharon
 Clawson, Deeaja Monfort, Jaxon Bernstein, Dylan Brown, and Makaela
 Russell; they were then invited to compete at the National
 LifeSmarts Championship in San Diego, California, where they placed
 ninth; the team represented one of only two schools from Texas in
 attendance; and
 WHEREAS, In January 2025, Bartlett High School placed first
 for the third year in a row at the LifeSmarts State Championship,
 qualifying them to compete in April at the National LifeSmarts
 Championship in Chicago, Illinois; the FCCLA LifeSmarts team
 members for the 2024-2025 academic year include Dylan Brown, Sharon
 Clawson, Jaxon Bernstein, Zachary Huebner, and Makaela Russell; and
 WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the recent state and
 national LifeSmarts competitions, these outstanding young Texans
 have demonstrated great initiative and ability, and they may indeed
 look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Bartlett High School FCCLA
 LifeSmarts champions on their achievements and extend to them
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Bartlett High School FCCLA LifeSmarts competition
 team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
 Representatives.
