No. 527 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Chief David Langenberg of Humble Fire Rescue has been named a 2025 Public Official of the Year by the Master of Public Administration program at the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs; and WHEREAS, Each year, the Master of Public Administration program honors local elected officials, public servants, and practitioners who have exemplified the highest standards of public service; and WHEREAS, Chief Langenberg has led Humble Fire Rescue since 2018, and he brings to his position more than two and a half decades of experience in fire and EMS services; under his able direction, the department has played an instrumental role in responding to complex emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic and regional disaster relief efforts; and WHEREAS, Active in his profession, Chief Langenberg has been a member of Texas A&M Task Force 1, a federal and state search and rescue team, for more than a decade, and he served as a publicly elected commissioner for Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 for eight years; he holds multiple undergraduate degrees and a master's degree in public administration from Sam Houston State University, and he earned an executive fire officer designation from the National Fire Academy; and WHEREAS, Chief David Langenberg's dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence have greatly benefited his fellow citizens and earned him the respect and admiration of his peers, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his accomplishments as he accepts this prestigious award; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Chief David Langenberg on being named a 2025 Public Official of the Year by the University of Houston Master of Public Administration program and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Chief Langenberg as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
