 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Imari Reynolds has ably served her fellow Texans as
 a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu
 during the 89th Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Reynolds has shared her
 valuable knowledge with the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee
 and earned the appreciation of her colleagues for her commitment,
 fierce advocacy, and sense of humor; in addition to gaining
 valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned
 more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens
 of the Lone Star State; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Reynolds plans to graduate in May 2026 from the
 Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where
 she is vice president of the Black Law Students Association and
 president of the Civil Rights Law Society; she is an alumna of the
 University of California, Santa Cruz and has studied at the
 University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados, the
 University of Ghana, and the University of the Western Cape; while
 attending UCSC, she was recognized as the 2017 Cowell College
 Student Leader of the Year and was president of the Black Student
 Union and the university's chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority;
 over the years, she has served as a client advocate for the Harris
 County Public Defender's Office, special education teacher at
 Raleigh-Egypt High School as part of Teach for America, chair of
 Destination Higher Education, and immigration and abolition pillar
 lead at Social Justice Solutions; and
 WHEREAS, Imari Reynolds has performed her duties as a
 legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
 deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Imari Reynolds for her service as a
 legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and
 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her
 endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Reynolds as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
