The bill would require the Higher Education Coordinating Board to establish the Texas Child Mental Health Professions Pipeline Program and encourage participating institutions to develop pipeline programs for the purpose of providing a clear, guided pathway for public junior colleges to transfer to a participating institution to pursue a baccalaureate degree or a postbaccalaureate degree or certificate leading to licensure and practice in certain mental health professions. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the program by participating institutions or the Higher Education Coordinating Board would be implemented within existing resources.
