The bill would modify the frequency with which Board of Pardons and Paroles may reconsider an individual for release on parole. It removes the reconsideration period of one year while maintaining the one-to-five-year and one-to-ten-year periods. The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined due to the lack of data to determine the frequency with which the Board of Pardons and Paroles might exercise the option under the bill's provisions to extend individuals' time until a subsequent reconsideration.
