The bill would make an exception for the offenses of recklessly engaging in conduct that places another person in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or knowingly discharging a firearm at or in the direction of one or more individuals if the person is a peace officer who is engaged in the actual discharge of their official duties.It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
