RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 2154.101(b), Occupations Code, as follows: (b) Prohibits a person who is younger than 18 years of age from being issued a license under Subchapter D (Types of Licenses). Deletes existing text prohibiting a person who is younger than 21 years of age from being issued a pyrotechnic operator's license. Deletes existing text providing that the minimum age of a person issued another license under Subchapter D is 18 years of age. SECTION 2. Amends Section 2154.201(a), Occupations Code, to delete existing text prohibiting a person who is younger than 21 years of age from being issued a public fireworks display permit, and to make a conforming change. SECTION 3. Effective date: September 1, 2025.

S.B. 2184 amends provisions in the Texas Occupations Code regarding the minimum age requirements for issuing licenses or permits related to public fireworks displays.
