C.S.S.B. 260 would increase both the school safety per campus allotment and per student allotment.    C.S.S.B. 260 amends current law relating to the school safety allotment under the Foundation School Program.   RULEMAKING AUTHORITY   This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.   SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS   SECTION 1. Amends Section 48.115(a), Education Code, as follows:    (a) Provides that, except as provided by Subsection (a-1) (relating to a school district campus that provides only virtual instruction or utilizes only facilities not subject to the district's control), a school district is entitled to an annual allotment equal to the sum of the following amounts or a greater amount provided by appropriation:    (1) $28, rather than $10, for each student in average daily attendance, plus $1 for each student in average daily attendance per every $50 by which the district's maximum basic allotment under Section 48.051 (Basic Allotment) exceeds $6,160, prorated as necessary; and    (2) $30,000, rather than $15,000, per campus.    SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2025.

C.S.S.B. 260 builds on the historic funding for school safety that was appropriated during the 88th Legislature. C.S.S.B. 260 would increase both the school safety per campus allotment and per student allotment.

C.S.S.B. 260 amends current law relating to the school safety allotment under the Foundation School Program.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Amends Section 48.115(a), Education Code, as follows:
