 Fiscal Analysis

The bill would amend the School Safety Allotment under the Foundation School Program (FSP). The allotment would be increased from $10 per ADA and $15,000 per campus to $28 per ADA and $30,000 per campus.

 Methodology

This analysis assumes the cost related to the increase in the School Safety Allotment would be $249.8 million in fiscal year 2026, $250.3 million in fiscal year 2027, decreasing to $210.8 million in fiscal year 2030.The cost includes an estimated reduction in Recapture Payments of $31.2 million in fiscal year 2026, $40.6 million in fiscal year 2027, decreasing to $39.4 million in fiscal year 2030.

 Local Government Impact

This analysis assumes Local Education Agencies (LEAs) would receive additional funding for school safety through the FSP under this bill.
