The bill would authorize a district judge to issue an order for the installation and use of a mobile tracking device on the application of a peace officer commissioned by the Comptroller.The bill would add certain restrictions and requirements on transporters of fuels and other hazardous materials.The bill would prohibit a person from operating or moving an overweight vehicle transporting hazardous materials on a non-designated route, imposing a second degree felony for a violation.While it is assumed that any state revenue impact would not be significant, it would be dependent on the number of offenses committed and the associated court costs.  Local Government ImpactIt is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
